Our Lady of the Lake University’s (OLLU) Online MSW Program

Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) offers a CSWE-accredited online MSW program through its Worden School of Social Service — the first school of social work established in Texas, founded in 1942. The online MSW has two entry points: a Foundation Program for students whose bachelor’s degree is in a field other than social work, and an Advanced Standing Program for students who hold a BSW from a CSWE-accredited program.

OLLU’s MSW is one of only a few programs in the country with a practice concentration specifically focused on services to Hispanic children and families. The Hispanic population is the fastest-growing demographic community in the United States, and the program is designed to prepare students to provide culturally competent advanced direct practice across a wide range of professional settings. The curriculum emphasizes specialized intervention with Hispanic/Latin@ children and families while fostering commitment to social, racial, economic, and environmental justice.

The program is delivered online and is designed for working professionals, featuring asynchronous instruction with weekly due dates and seven-week course terms — students take one course at a time. A dedicated field placement specialist assists online students in securing local practicum placements. OLLU is a Yellow Ribbon School, offering a 10% tuition discount to active-duty service members and veterans.

OLLU’s online MSW program is fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE), and the university is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC).
