Michigan State University Hybrid MSW Program

The University of Michigan offers a hybrid online MSW program that follows a cohort model. Traditional and advanced standing options are available with concentrations in Clinical Social Work. Students are only required to physically visit campus 1 Saturday per month as well as one week in the summer.

For traditional standing students course requirements to graduate require 57 credits hours, and 960 hours of field education. Advanced standing students are required to complete 38 credit hours and 600 hours of field education. Both programs are available in a part time option and take three years for traditional and two years for advanced. Admissions for traditional students and advanced students is in the summer only. Remaining coursework online or through monthly videoconferences.

Work Experience: Students must have two years of full-time experience in a human services related field in the last five years post graduation from their bachelor program to be eligible for admission.

Disclaimers: Program is designed for Michigan residents who do not live within 30 miles of the East Lansing, Oakland or Saginaw campuses. Out-of-state students must live within 50 miles of the Michigan border.
